Giving clothes a new beginning

FAQ

We have some answers to those questions you are bound to have!

A: At present our website doesn't have the facility to create an account. For now, please submit your name and email address each time you bid on an item. It's our intention to soon provide a way for you to create an account, which we recognize will make it easier to join in the fun!!

A: We aim to put up 9 new items each Monday, at which point the silent auction on these items will begin and will be open until Friday at midnight.

A: After each bid you will recieve email confirmtion.

A: We want you to be thrilled when you receive your item! So please check carefully the measurements shown against the product you are bidding on, as sizing has changed over the years. You will find detailed measurements on each item's individual page.

A: If you have specific questions about your online experience or specific bid, you can email us at anytime at help@retiedye.com. Our team works from 9am - 5:30pm (GMT) and we aim to respond to your email within 24 hours Monday to Sunday.

A: Each item is unique and a one off. We try our best to post items on our socials that are currently up for auction. So if you have seen something you like on our Instagram between Monday 9am and Friday midnight that week, then you will be able to place a bid on it. However, if you are looking at something we posted in April and it's July, then that item won't be available. We provide one off pieces, and as a result we will never reproduce, so if you have an opportunity to bid, don't miss out.... bid!!!

A: Prior to the dying process, the garments treated with a small amount of vinegar and salt. This increases the garment's ability to absorb the dye. However, we are using natural dyes we recommend hand washing your items for the first four washes in cold water as a precaution, as it has been known for dye to run in the first few washes.

A: Yes, all garments are boiled washed. Not only does this ensure hygiene but it increases the garments ability to accept natural dyes.

A: We aim to use cotton garments for tie dye as they tend to take natural dyes better than other synthetic materials. However, we are committed to offering a range of unique garments, not limited to material choice. Material information will be included with the garment description.

A: We accept Visa Debit, Visa Credit and MasterCard. All credit and debit card holders are subject to validation and authorisation by both us and the card issuer, to maintain security and prevent fraud. We take security seriously, so your details will be safe with us.

A: Should you be lucky enough to win an item you will be sent an email on the Saturday afer the auction has ended. The email will have details on how to pay for your winning bid. It will have a secure link sending you back to our site to process the payment.

A: Not to sound overly dramatic but you have 24 hours! Few obvious reasons for this, one is to avoid false bidding. It's unfair to bid on an item with a bid you have no intention on settling. It wastes time for all involved, but also prevents those who really want to own that item. 24 hours is enough time to pay for the item. After that deadline your bid will be cancelled and the next highest bid will be awarded that item, and given 24 hours to fulfill their bid.

A: All bids are processed unless we are having technical issues. Always best to follow us on all our socials, as if we have any technical issues we will make sure we advertise the fact, and notify you of when they have been put right. Alternativley you have been blocked and prevented from biddng. For those that fail to pay for bids within 24 hours twice, are a serial offender that we then prevent that email address placing bids.
